Naan On The Go!

My favorite Indian food place is unveiling scrumptiousness in a pocket form, and selling them at a couple of our local markets.

I have yet to determine if I am a fan of Ms. Sobo aka Happy Mouth Maker or her food the most. Both bring unmeasurable amounts happiness to my life.

See my original post about my first adventure of Naan.

Don’t take my word for the mouth watering, habit forming, delicious is an understatement food, that is made from the turmeric colored trailer in Arcata….visit them yourself. Or, grab a pocket!!!

Go. Eat. Repeat

She will also be having a cooking class at the North Coast Co-Op…stay tuned for the dates.

Have a happy mouth!!

Sequoia Park Zoo Garden

After a day of surfing, I talked Dan into going to one of my favorite Eureka spots, the Sequoia Park Zoo Garden. I treated him to lunch at the Zoo Cafe and he sat in the garden and ate it with me.

This garden is breath taking to say the least. The two volunteers go everyday and plant, water and dead head. They arrive in the am and don’t leave until the sun sets most days. This is strictly volunteer and a great passion for them both. They have an anxious lab Kiley along side with them who loves to play fetch, and drool.

There is also a cat on the premises. The Zoo has put a STAFF collar with bells on the cat so he can’t hunt birds. :)

Listen to the stories they will share with you about the elderly couple that come each night and sit on the benches until sunset like they used to do when they were courting. Or the little Irish lady who comes once a month with 3 quarters ( one for each of her children) and makes a wish in the wishing well.

I encourage you to take your children, friends, and family to enjoy their labor of love.

Make sure you thank them for making this the most beautiful place in Eureka.

Ratana’s Green Papaya Salad

One of my favorite things to eat while sitting on the beach watching Daniel surf is a Green Papaya salad from Ratana’s.

She makes each salad to order! The crunchiness of the papaya mixed with the spiciness from the peppers topped with the added zest from a lime makes my mouth happy!
